Democracy Now!

Democracy Now! will expand to a daily two-hour broadcast during the 2012 Republican and Democratic National Conventions. Amy Goodman and the Democracy Now! crew will travel to Tampa Bay and Charlotte to report from the streets, to the suites, to the convention floor.

On the opening day of the 2008 Republican Convention, Goodman and two producers were unlawfully arrested and subjected to excessive force while reporting on a public protest surrounding the convention.

LWV 2nd Congressional District Debate

The 12 registered candidates for the newly-drawn 2nd United States Congressional District participated in a debate at the Angelico Hall on the Dominican University of California campus. The candidates are, in alphabetical order: Susan Adams, Andy Caffrey, Brooke Clarke, William Courtney, Larry Fritzlan, Michael Halliwell, Jared Huffman, Stacey Lawson, John Lewallen, Tiffany Renee, Dan Roberts, and Norman Solomon.
