Marin TV - Master Control Updates

November 17, 2016 8:00 AM UPDATE

More work ahead! We brought the Community Channel 26 online last night and it is now playing out the regular program schedule. Still many tweaks to be done to encoder/scalers along the signal path to refine the image quality. We should have Channel 27/30 back to their normal schedules later today.

November 16, 2016 8:00 AM UPDATE

We worked late into the night but haven't yet brought the new system online. There will continue to be interruptions to the normal schedule throughout the day as we transfer files, test and configure the setup. Hopefully there will be a return to normal programming this evening. We appreciate your patience! Note: Live government meetings will play at their scheduled times and the Government Channel 27 remains on the same schedule as usual.

November 15, 2016 UPDATE

We are rolling over the Marin TV cable channels to new servers this afternoon. Expect some disruptions to the programming schedule as we do this. We hope to have things as close to normal as soon as possible. Tweaks and tests will continue throughout the week.

Expect Technical Difficulties - Nov. 15-18

Monday, Nov 14th. One of our DISH feeds froze this morning which disrupted our morning cablecasts of Democracy Now and Gay USA. We resumed at 10:15 with a delayed cablecast of DN! and it will repeat normally at other hours today. Things like this happen at the worst time - and we know many of you are following the news more closely this week than ever. We will continue to do our best to avoid future problems.

On that note - we have many equipment changes planned the rest of this week and there may be a few more hiccups as we move our channels over to the new equipment. We will do our best to minimize downtime! Please bear with us during this time.

What the heck is on anyway?

UPDATE 11/2/16 Yes - it's all working now. We have worked the kinks out with the new provider and the Guide does reflect the weekly schedule submissions. There is one exception, our Government channel changes nearly every day with additions so the guide but not be 100% accurate - but our web schedule always is: CH 27: http://cmcm.tv/gov-schedule

If you've been using the Guide on Comcast to find our programming, you've probably found it very confusing in recent weeks. We've been working with Tivo/Rovi on fixing the random errors for a couple months now and were just informed this week that Comcast had actually moved that service to another vendor entirely. Surprise! So, now we're working with the new vendor on the problems (once they return from their vacation that is). Yes, frustrating to be sure, but only a small part of our daily joy.

The best place to see what's actually on has always been our online schedules which are live up to the minute updates of what's being scheduled:
CH 26: http://cmcm.tv/community-schedule
CH 27: http://cmcm.tv/gov-schedule
CH 30: http://cmcm.tv/edu-schedule
