Eye of the Storm

Eye of the Storm relives the night of the controversial execution of Stanley "Tookie" Williams.

On the night of December 13, 2005, San Quentin Village was hit by a media storm generated by the coming execution of Crips co-founder Tookie Williams. The film's director, Kramer Herzog, is a resident of the village, and in return for the use of his property, the FOX National News crew granted Herzog permission to film and interact with them over the course of the 24 hours leading up to the midnight execution.

Wednesday, August 7, 2013

Former Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright writes, "No one who lived through the years of 1937 to 1948 was a stranger to profound sadness. Millions of innocents did not survive, and their deaths must never be forgotten." At once a deeply personal memoir and an incisive work of history,Prague Winter: A Personal Story of Remembrance and War, 1937-1948 serves as a guide to the future through the lessons of the past - as seen through the eyes of one of the international community's most respected and fascinating figures.

Marin County Firefighters: "Always Prepared" Watch now on Vimeo

Three years ago I made a short film about what it's like to work up in the fire lookout on the East Peak of Mt. Tamalpais. The majority of a lookout’s day is spent in watchfulness while listening to Marin County Fire dispatch sending firefighters on calls. As I became more and more familiar with what I was hearing, I began to marvel at how our first responders are instantly ready to help anyone in trouble… and there were plenty of emergencies on that radio. Car and bike accidents, structure and wildland fires, medical emergencies and more… there are a constant string of crises that firefighters have to respond to FAST.

Seriously Now

Seriously Now In Depth this week takes a look at youth and family courts. First, an interview with Don Carney, the director of Marin Youth Court which brings an innovative approach to Marin’s teenagers. The youth play DA, defense lawyer, and juror and the sentences are binding. The sentences focus on restorative justice and not on punishment. Kelly O’Mara, a host for Seriously Now, conducts the interview.
