CMCM Updates

Welcome Novato!

To our Novato Friends, welcome to Marin TV. In the coming days you will see your channels on Comcast and AT&T migrate from the NCTV channels to the Marin TV channels. We hope you will find them to your liking. You will discover a wider array of new programming both local, national and international. Our schedules are posted on this site as well as access to the live web streams.

For members of NCTV, we have grandfathered your memberships to CMCM for one year starting July 1. If you were certified in field camera we will honor that with a brief tutorial on the use of our cameras which will be different. Editing will be available via our edit lab for Final Cut Pro and Davinci Resolve. Later this summer the lab will be upgraded to M2 Macs. Use of our Main Studio and Podcast Studio will require taking the related courses as these facilities are likely quite different to what you were used to. For info on classes or membership matters, contact omid@marintv.org. If you do intend to activate your membership, we suggest you also review our member hand book here.

Youth Exploring Sea Level Rise Science Program

CMCM has joined a collaborative project with Marin County’s Community Development Agency, the Welcome Center and Coravai, (an organization connecting the worlds of environmental science and policy) launching the Youth Exploring Sea Level Rise Science (YESS) program to produce a short documentary.

In this Spanish-language documentary, youth leaders from the YESS project will interview people in the Canal neighborhood of San Rafael, and share the work they and other Bay Area students are doing to document sea level rise vulnerability and spark conversations about community resilience to major flood events.
Stay tuned for further updates.

Marin Movie Club presents "Blade Runner"

If you're a movie buff, you'll love the Marin Movie Club, a monthly meeting of film fans who gather on Zoom to discuss a variety of noteworthy motion pictures. Join self-described movie nerd Dain Bedford-Pugh for a Zoom conversation about the definitive version of “Blade Runner” on Wednesday, October 13 (7:00 - 8:30 PM).

As burned-out detective Deckard (Harrison Ford) hunts a group of fugitive replicants in a high-tech future soured by urban and social decay, he is drawn to a mysterious woman (Sean Young) whose secrets may undermine his own soul. This seminal film from acclaimed director Ridley Scott is one of the most influential examples of dystopian science-fiction - come and join us as we discuss this definitive version of the film which was personally overseen by Scott himself.

Stream "Blade Runner: The Final Cut" in advance, and register for the MMC discussion by emailing dain@cmcm.tv
