Leadership Lecture Series
Leadership Lectures and Workshop Series highlight extraordinary individual, organizational and societal leadership.
The Lecture Series seeks to promote constructive change in our community and its organizations by bringing to Dominican University of California some of the country’s leading figures from the world of politics, entertainment, academia, and literature.
Al Gore, Madelaine Albright, Nancy Pelosy, Dave Eggers, Ralph Nader, Marian Wright Edelman, Bill McKibbon and Dr. Atul Gawande, among many, have spoken at our Lecture Series.
This program features an evening with Robert N. Bellah. His book Religion in Human Evolution is a work of extraordinary ambition—a wide-ranging, nuanced probing of our biological past to discover the kinds of lives that human beings have most often imagined were worth living. It offers what is frequently seen as a forbidden theory of the origin of religion that goes deep into evolution, especially but not exclusively cultural evolution. Religion in Human Evolution answers the call for a critical history of religion grounded in the full range of human constraints and possibilities.
