Peter Mullan's third feature as writer and director is set in 1970s Glasgow, where an impoverished but studious teenager joins a gang of NEDs (Non-Educated Delinquents) and a world of violence, drugs and rage that could spin him out of control, except for one extraordinary chance at redemption.
