2010 Board Candidate Nominations

Dear CMCM members,
As you know, you will be electing two members of the CMCM Board of Directors in October. The election will be by written ballots submitted shortly before our annual Membership Meeting on October 30, 2010.
CMCMʼs Bylaws (section 8.02) provide that our Board Governance Committee (combined with the Board Development Committee by action of the Board February 2010) shall nominate a candidate for each of these board positions and communicate this proposed slate to our Members.
The Board Governance Committee has met and unanimously nominated William Sims and Flor Emert for reelection to a full term on the CMCM Board of Directors.
These two members have been key to the founding and development of the organization. Both have been vital to the successes that we have enjoyed to date.
William Sims has been key to forging our contracts with the Marin Telecommunications Agency and is also the treasurer. Bill has a wealth of institutional knowledge as well as strong legal skills that are important to the organization at this time.
Flor has served as the vice chairperson, reaching out to many community organizations, doing many tasks to help CMCM serve the community. Her close ties with Hispanic community members as well as contacts in other ethnic communities form an important community link.
As the organization faces serious funding challenges, the CMCM Board strongly recommends that you reelect Flor Emert and William Sims to the board. We believe that their continued leadership and service on our Board is essential for us to strengthen and stabilize the organization, enabling it to reach itʼs potential supporting Community Media in Marin.
