San Rafael PD K9 Fundraiser

The Community Media Center of Marin partnered with the San Rafael Police Department's K9 Association to create the following short promo for their fundraiser event on September 28th at the Christopher B. Smith Rafael Film Center. You can catch the promo here:

http://youtu.be/D_ObWez7OmI

The San Rafael Police Department had a very successful K9 program for over 20 years, but was eliminated in 2003 due to budget constraints. The men and women of SRPD have formed the K9 Association in an effort to rebuild the program solely through fundraising. Contributions from the community and the San Rafael Police K9 Association funded the purchase of two German Shepherds – Ares and Faro. All proceeds from this event will go to the care, training and maintenance of the K9s. The tickets and donations for this event are tax deductable.

Announcing the Marin TV Viewer Survey

Your feedback is very important to us. It's also important that Marin County understands the value of the these non-commercial channels for the community - our future depends on that recognition!

Take a moment to complete this brief online survey and tell us what you watch and how often. Also tell us what types of programming you'd like to see and any other comments/concerns you might have.

And please forward this message to your family and friends in Marin and encourage them to complete the survey too!

You can take the survey by clicking here: http://cmcm.tv/viewer-survey

Why is AT&T trying to stop you from keeping an eye on local government?

Channel 99 is the public-access ghetto

What Happened to Al Jazeera English?

You may have noticed that starting August 20th Al Jazera English programming disappeared from our schedule. This is due to the launch of the Al Jazeera America Network and various cable operator agreements in regards to carriage elsewhere. To watch Al Jazeera's new channel, check your local listings, they're taking over channels currently broadcasting Current TV, or visit http://america.aljazeera.com/

In Marin you can see the Al Jazeera America Network on Comcast 107 if you have the digital 'enhanced' package. Satellite subscribers will find the channel at DIRECTV Channel 358 and DISH Network Channel 215. AT&T U-verse and Time Warner customers are out of luck as both systems have refused to carry the new Al Jazeera channel. If you watched Al Jazeera's live web streams in the past, you will now need to be a cable or DBS subscriber to access those streams.

Watch the Leadership Studies Lecture series on Marin TV

If you missed any of the Leadership Lecture Series events, don't fret, you can now watch them on Wednesday evenings at 8:00 P.M, Repeats Thursdays at 10:00 A.M. on the Marin TV Education Channel (Comcast 30, AT&T U-Verse 99).

Prague Winter: A Personal Story of Remembrance and War

Wednesday, August 7, 2013

Former Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright writes, "No one who lived through the years of 1937 to 1948 was a stranger to profound sadness. Millions of innocents did not survive, and their deaths must never be forgotten." At once a deeply personal memoir and an incisive work of history,Prague Winter: A Personal Story of Remembrance and War, 1937-1948 serves as a guide to the future through the lessons of the past - as seen through the eyes of one of the international community's most respected and fascinating figures.
