CMCM's popular series of masterclasses "Ask The Experts" is back at Marin TV on-site with media-related topics presented by experts in their field. These special workshops are free for all CMCM members and $35 for non-members (all ATE workshops and 1-year membership included).

The Ask The Experts (ATE) series will be hosted by CMCM's Director of Operations, Omid Shamsapour. They will be held on Thursdays @ 6:30 PM:

"Story & Structure" with Andrew Small

Learn the skills for writing a feature film from an experienced screenwriter and, in turn, adapt those skills into writing a short film!

"Comfortable On Camera" with Tiffany McElroy
Thursday, May 23rd (6:30 - 8:30 PM):
Learn from an Emmy Award-winning television journalist how to improve the way you communicate and help you deliver your message on camera in a compelling and engaging way. After this workshop, you'll feel as comfortable and confident as a pro!

CAFILM Education and Youth in Arts partnered to support three youth filmmakers in producing, filming and editing a short documentary film about the making of two San Rafael City School murals. As part of Youth in Arts’ I AM: Intensive Arts Mentorship and Job Skills Training program, these three filmmakers captured the community and artistic development of the murals in Bahia Vista Elementary School and Venetia Valley School.

Splash of Color: A Community Masterpiece is a documentary film about the transformative power of creativity, art, and community in San Rafael.

The Kreole & Krawfish CommUNITY Gathering, organized by POWERED By MUSIC, is a truly inspiring event that aims to raise funds for the “Are You Ready To Learn with Andre Thierry” music program. Through the program’s noble intent of preserving the rich French Kreole heritage and culture while supporting music education, we make positive impacts to ensure that this cultural legacy endures its traditions for future generations.

​This outdoor gathering has something for everyone - a spacious dance floor, a creative zone for children filled with arts, crafts, and games, comfortable reserved table seating, and lawn seating. The atmosphere is filled with good vibes, making it the perfect place for family-friendly reunions.

​Attendees will enjoy the electrifying performances of Grammy-nominated artist Andre Thierry and other talented Kreole musicians from Louisiana and Texas as they unite and showcase their high-energy rhythmic expressions, calling ALL music lovers to the dance floor! Join us and experience the musical traditions passed down from generation to generation as we share the heART of the French Kreole culture.

CMCM Updates for 2024!

The Community Media Center of Marin is open again and we have some important updates for 2024:

The Editing Lab has been optimized with new Mac computer systems with M2 Pro chips. We look forward to having our community enjoy the major upgrades at the center.

CMCM will no longer be providing SD cards for members to use in cameras and the podcast studio. These are now affordable enough that members should have their own. Below are some links to the exact SD cards we recommend for you all to purchase for both the Sony X70 Cameras & the eXpress Podcast Studio. We greatly appreciate your understanding!
