Editing: Making an Invisible Art Visible

Get an incisive look at the different types of cuts that editors make, and how they affect the story and audience.

Explore scenes from TV shows, movies, and documentaries and learn how editing shapes plot, pace, character, and structure.  Delve into the impact visual effects, sound, and music editing have on a film.  Veteran editor Gael Chandler covers the three phases of the editing process, comparing traditional, Hollywood-style, linear, "invisible" editing with documentary and modern, MTV-style, non-linear, often unabashedly "visible" editing.

Sessions: 5

Dates: Wednesdays, April 8, 15, 22, 29, and May 6 (6 - 9 PM)
