Louis DeLuco - Photographs:
"Route 66 and Other Work"
August 1st through September 1, 2010
Louis DeLuco has a B.A. in Art from UC Berkeley and a M.A. in Fine Art Photography from Lone Mountain College, San Francisco. He has been an artist for most of his life and a Marin County resident for over thirty years. His artistic path led him through the areas of sculpture, painting, mural design, advertising design, printmaking, and to his main focus, photography. Louis DeLuco’s color and black & white photography portfolio encompasses documentary, landscape, figure, aircraft and architectural images.
Many of the photographs in this exhibition are part of a series of images taken on a road trip along Route 66, the "Mother Road", between Flagstaff, Arizona and Clinton, Oklahoma.
Nowadays, the towns are dotted with abandoned gas stations, theaters, drive-ins, motels, diners, motor courts, camp grounds and other businesses. Fortunately, there are many interesting derelict buildings and distinctive signs in these towns.
Selected photographs have been published and exhibited nationally. Contact: ldeluco@hotmail.com
Past Exhibits
Alan Plisskin - (June 16th through August 1st 2010)
"Marin County, a Special Place"
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Alan moved to California in 1972 to
pursue his photographic career. Commencing in commercial photography,
specializing in portraiture, it wasn't long before the beauty of
California's majestic scenery made a dramatic impact on Alan's
photographic vision. Over his career, Alan has studied with numerous
internationally renown photographers including the late Galen Rowell,
Chris Burkett and Lou DeSario.
Alan has initiated a "green" approach to his photography. With 27
years of darkroom experience in producing fine art prints, Alan, like
many other photographers, was limited to utilizing traditional,
potentially hazardous, photographic chemicals. Alan is now using the
chemical-free, Giclee process, which offers the additional benefit of
100+ year archival life to the finished prints.

(through Feb 14th 2010)
Born in Oakland, Ca, BS Graphic Design, UC Davis, Past Career in Advertising
Resident of San Rafael, CA
For the last decade, my primary medium has been Hand-Painted Photography. After taking photos of California Landscapes, I print them in black & white on archival (acid-free) paper, and then add color by hand, using specialized oil paints and/or colored pencils. My Hand-Painted Photographs have won awards from State and Local competitions, including 5 awards from the Marin County Fair.
In 2006, I chanced upon an oil painting class, and have been captured by the creative process of plein air (outdoor) painting. I have studied with J. Thomas Soltesz, Timothy Horn, the Marin Art School, Jove Wang and Camille Przewodek. My oils have earned invitations to prestigious benefit art shows including Marin/scapes and West Marin Wild.
